Cleaning is not my thing, but GETTING ORGANIZED certainly is. The 1st step to getting organized is de-cluttering.

The reason that areas in a home get cluttered is because people keep too much stuff.

With the change of seasons upon us, it’s a great time to get organized – and DE-CLUTTER.

Do you have pets? 60% of households have a dog and 47% have a cat. To avoid clutter from their supplies and toys you need to organize them. Whether you have a 4,000 SF home, or a 3 room apartment, there are products to fit your space and budget.

Many of my clients have asked me to help them with organizing their pet supplies. If you have pets, set-up a FREE DISCOVERY SESSION to learn how I can help you. Call me at (978) 922-6136.

Family Heirlooms

Organizing family heirlooms is another thing I’ve helped many clients with: pictures, furniture, old letters and documents, and art. For restoration or repair check out: http://oliverbrothersonline.com

Kids Art

People are reluctant to let go of kids art. Select your favorites to preserve. Great gift for grandparents. Check out: http://www.artimusart.comAlways DE-CLUTTER before you start cleaning (it doesn’t work the other way around!).

Look at everything in your home and ask, “Do I really need this or even use it anymore?” Does it just take up unnecessary space?

Think “Second Life Resources.” Sometimes it’s easier to let things go when you know they are going to be used by someone else who needs them or may benefit from them more than you.

Remember, you don’t have to do this all yourself! Delegate. Assign specific tasks to different people in your household.

Often professional help can make a huge difference. Call me at (978) 922-6136 to learn more about my Professional Organizing services.

Consider these three options when de-cluttering.

Remove – it goes in the trash
Re-purpose – give it away to a family member or friend
Recycle – donate it to a charity and have it picked up

One of my favorite places to “recycle” things is the Vietnam Veterans of America (http://scheduleapickup.com/).

Also, when it comes to DE-CLUTTERING remember the word PURGE.

  • Prioritize
  • Unload
  • Recycle
  • Get Organized
  • Enjoy a Less Cluttered Home
