Spring has sprung and it’s time to transition from winter to spring! There’s no need for stress, it can be as easy as 1-2-3!

I am going to focus on only three areas:

Bedroom
Entry Way
Garage

General Advice

Set timer for 30-60 minutes to get you started.

Complete organizing one area before moving on to the next.

Bedroom

Avoid stress in the morning by having seasonal clothes in drawers & closets.

Remove and store fall/winter clothing.

Store clothes in clear storage bins, labeled with size and season.

Make 3 piles: (1) Give A Way, (2) Donate, (3) Toss Out.

Put clothing with stains in a bag to donate to textile recycle bins.

Roll clothes and use drawer organizers to maximize space.

See the latest Boobie Trap at The Container Store.

Put like items together so you can see how many you have.

For example, do you have 15 to 25 tee shirts? How many do you really wear?

Entry Way

Only keep what you REALLY need in this space.

This area often becomes a landing pad for shoes, sneakers, backpacks, etc.

Get everyone in the house to agree this is not a “dumping zone!”

Clear winter items from cubbies or drawers.

Store them in clear storage bins labeled hats, gloves, scarfs, etc.

Organize cubbies with “ready to go” seasonal sports bags.

Store sneakers and shoes in an over the door shoe bag.

Use bins or a shoe rack if you have space.

Have wall pockets and key hooks near the door to “grab & go.”

Have hooks to hang jackets on.

Does your garage look like this? If it does, I can help! Call me at (978) 922-6136.

I helped one of my clients organize her garage so there were specific zones for different types of sporting equipment, pool, garden, and auto supplies.

We were able to use the shelving units (that they already had), with the addition of clear plastic stackable containers. It is better to use multiple containers than to use large storage bins (where everything gets lost in a black hole).

Each container and shelf was labeled so that ANYONE in the household could find what they were looking for, and equally important, know where to put the items away!

Organize items by category and create zones for:
Auto supplies
Gardening supplies
Pool supplies
Bikes (put helmets on handlebars)
Golf, fishing, etc.

Having your auto supplies, sports and garden equipment well organized will prevent you from having to go on a scavenger hunt to find what you are looking for when you need it!

There is a wide selection of organizing products ranging from state-of-the-art garage systems to less costly solutions that are equally effective. A few examples are this Tennis Racket Organizer or this Garden Tool Set Organizer.

If you struggle with clutter, need help organizing your papers, find yourself with the Terrible Too’s (too much to do, too little time), I can help.

Maybe it’s time for a “Three Hour Transformation” to help you get moving in the right direction? I can get you organized and heading in the right direction in only three hours!
